Here we are finally ready to deal with one of the most anticipated debut album and one of the most talked about band of the underground Italian music (and other) linked to the scene metal / hardcore, as the young band live the Venetian support to the likes of Underoath and Dillinger Escape Plan but also a massive online buzz has managed to gain some notoriety though currently without a contract and having so far only released a self produced EP soon.
The wait for this full-length has been noticed but it is also a direct consequence of the high professionalism of the band, careful to treat every single detail of his multifaceted artistic proposal.
The Long Procession is a concept album divided into ten tracks that flow into each other, alternating moments of rare frontal impact with swirling changes of time, to more melodic and soft, with an ex-spacing throughout the environmental and instrumental progressions light of post-metal mold.
the early plays the album with its 68 minutes of time can easily seem quite heavy to digest, but ultimately I would say that once metabolized it all back and prove to the various tracks are well connected with each other, said this is the undeniable fact that some environmental and instrumental interludes do lose a little impact and fluidity the tracklist.
The opening triptych composed Empire, A New Dawn and My Hands Will Burn First is absolutely perfect in its overflowing engraving, made by a lethal rhythm section (particularly the impressive drumming of Simone Pellegrini) that in combination with a dissonant wall of sound guitar and the mighty growling Alessandro Brun reveals all the potential technical and composition of the young sextet, then beautifully supported by a sparkling production that define it justice. With the long episode
environmental Ascending the album veers much more rarefied atmosphere and melodic, single sublimated from the corner Glances. At this point the band goes even further for another 14 minutes of instrumental Marasma , excellent composition progressive traits that blend with surprising technical maturity and epic.
It 's the time then Nicholas, in my opinion the central part of the album as well as more successful and able to synthesize in one fell swoop all facets of the band's sound. The brief interlude
environmental Infinite Sunset Of The Sleepless introduces The Traitor's March perfect piece's closing, enhanced by the always excellent vocal melodies of guitarist Mark Berton, in this episode particularly effective and decisive for the perfect performance of the mood of the song.
In conclusion we can say that impressed and pleased with the results achieved by the band with The Long Procession, a debut album can put in a lot of chiaroscuro-sounding band names and with many years of experience even if, I think the band in the future could make your work on the long run maybe a bit less ambitious, but certainly more compact, cutting some instrumental interlude / environment too.
